COVID-19: BISHOP MARCUS LAMB, DAYSTAR FOUNDER PASSING ON

– Texas, USA

After 23 years of Daystar Television, its Co-founder Bishop Marcus Lamb has passed on due to COVID-19 complications.

Bishop Lamb is one of the Pastors who openly disclosed his scepticism towards the vaccine and even the idea of COVID-19 virus. On several of his daily broadcasts, together with his wife Joni, Bishop Lamb had openly promoted alternative treatments for COVID-19 against the medically certified vaccine.

As the news of his critical state of health filtered through the press, Joni Lamb stated during the daily show that Bishop Lamb had “COVID-19 pneumonia.”

He eventually passed on around 4am on November 30.

Renowned Ministers of the word have expressed their shock and sent their condolences to his family.

William Wilson, President of Oral Roberts University described Bishop Lamb’s death as “a significant loss for the Kingdom of God.”

Bishop T. D. Jakes says this about Bishop Lamb, “I sent him a prayer last night that Joni said uplifted him. But God’s decisions are His own. I shudder to think of Joni, who was fighting alongside him for his life! His children adored him! He was so proud of them!”

The refusal of Bishop Lamb to get vaccinated, his campaign against vaccines and promotion of alternative uncertified options seem to compete with the grief that follows the passing of a renowned preacher of his status.

The news of his passing was first announced through a tweet on Daystar handle, which read, “It’s with a heavy heart we announce that Marcus Lamb, President and Founder of Daystar Television Network, went home to be with the Lord this morning. The family asks that their privacy be respected as they grieve this difficult loss. Please continue to lift them up in prayer.”

His wife, Joni Lamb later confirmed this.

“He was diagnosed with COVID and then got the COVID pneumonia. But he had pre-existing conditions,” Joni said.

While some social media posts continue to accuse him for misleading people not to take the vaccine, Senior Pastor Harvest Christian Fellowship says “I will always be grateful for Marcus.”

Bishop Marcus Lamb was ordained bishop in the Pentecostal Church of God. He first ventured into televangelism in 1983 after a trip to Israel with his wife. He returned, raised money from family and friends and bought off TV license from an Assemblies of God church.

He named the station 45 Alive and by 1985, he expanded the broadcast reach of his network after the station’s financial supporters grew to over 1,000 supporters.

In 1990, he sold the station to Trinity Broadcasting and moved to Texas where he bought another TV station. Over the years he bought stations across America in areas like Houston, Seattle, Phoenix, and Boston and with this, he launched Daystar Television on New Year’s Eve 1998 with inaugural sermon given by Pastor T. D. Jakes.

Pastor Marcus Lamb is survived by his wife, Joni and 3 children.
