COVID-19 VACCINE: PASTOR ITUAH IGHODALO TO PASTORS, DO YOUR RESEARCH, STOP MISINFORMING PEOPLE

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. With these words, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo described the scepticism or outright rejection of the COVID-19 vaccines by some Christians.

He says people have varied reactions and reasons for rejecting the vaccine. But Pastor Ighodalo describes it as a lack of knowledge. He agrees that people have fears which need to be addressed. The church and community leaders need to be educated on the composition of the vaccine.

He said this during an exclusive interview with Arise News TV. Pastor Ituah Ighodalo further revealed during this interview that he has taken his first jab and encouraged other Christians to go out and take the vaccine.

According to him, “some people think that the vaccine is a deliberate effort to wipe out the population. We need to address it; we need to prove that it’s not so. Other people think it is a sign of 666 dragon. We need to address it; we need to prove that it’s not so. Other people think it has long term effect. We need to address it; and we need to prove scientifically that this is not so. The problem is that a lot of these questions are not properly addressed and there’s too much rumour flying all over the place.

Concerning Churches who believe strictly in divine health, he says God recognises the role of medication. Quoting Jeremiah 8 vs 22, “Is there no balm in Gilead, Is there no physician there? Why then is there no recovery?,” Pastor Ighodalo says Christianity permits two healing sources, faith and wisdom; where wisdom represents God pouring out Himself in an individual to disscover knowledge required to produce medications.

“God knows that from time to time, you need a balm. You need medicine. God Himself provided divine knowledge for healing. There’s nothing that contradicts the bible with taking medication from time to time. You have faith for your healing but when there’s knowledge for medication. God is going to say why don’t you use the knowledge that I have provided, which is called wisdom to heal yourself.

He encourages religious leaders to seek information before addressing their congregations in order not to mislead them.

“I want to appeal to my brother Pastors also, do your research, get the knowledge, stop misinforming people or improperly educating people on guess work, on instinct, on mere supposition, and just trying to play a tough guy here and there.

“If there are things that you can do for yourself and you are still having faith for that it is called foolishness. So, there’s a vaccine available to cure an illness and you are believing God for the faith to cure that illness. I think it is a bit of foolishness. If there was no vaccine and there was no cure and you say God this Coronavirus must not come near me, then it is faith.
