DAILY DEVOTIONAL – BRIDE ASSEMBLY: EXALTED BY MEN

THE BRIDE’S DEVOTIONAL GUIDE – JUNE 17

Theme: EXALTED BY MEN

Text: Luke 16:19-31, Luke 18: 9-17

Memory Verse:

Memory Verse: “Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein”. Luke 18:17

Jesus Christ prophesied concerning Capernaum in Luke Chapter 10 Verse 15 saying, “And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.”

And in Luke Chapter 16 from Verse 19, the scripture says, “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores (So he was a terribly poor Jew).

And it came to pass, that the beggar died and was carried by the Angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died and was buried; And in hell he (the rich man) lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham have mercy on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water & cool my tongue: for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember, that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted and thou art tormented. And besides all these, between us and you, there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment”.

Then you understand scriptures like Matthew Chapter 23 Verse 12, “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased, and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.” And I encourage you to read the book of Luke; Chapter 18, Verse 9 to 17.

1: Holy Spirit, show me how to avoid getting distracted by human exaltations that are likely to throw me off the path of righteousness. Teach me to tear down my wall of self-righteousness.

2: My Father and my God, teach me to exalt You.
