Text: Luke 16:19-31, Mark 8:27-38
Memory Verse:
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels” Mark 8:38
27“Then he (The rich man) said, I pray thee therefore, father (Abraham), that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment”. Luke Chapter 16 and Verse 27 and 28.
Unfortunately, God has not allowed anybody to go there (heaven) and then come back to tell us exactly as it is. And the reason is pure & simple as seen in Luke Chapter 16 verse 29, “Abraham said unto him, they have Moses & the prophets; let them hear them.” Now you may ask in our days, which Moses & the prophets do we have? We have the Bible, we have the preachers, they are warning us every day that there is heaven and there is hell.
So, let them warn them but we see what the rich man said in Luke Chapter 16 and verse 30, “And he said, Nay, father Abraham, if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent” but church, will they repent? No! Will they repent? No! And that was the same answer Abraham gave to him in Luke Chapter 16 verse 31, “And he said unto him, if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead”.
In our day, as we see that even with the visions, tales, and fictions and so on, of hell that many have told and even put in audio and video or movie format, many are still trooping as unbelievers to hell. Brethren, will you also prefer to go to hell? Your answer right now may be a “NO!” but check your lifestyle, are you showing forth the fruit of the spirit or the works of the flesh? Hell is real!
1: Holy Spirit, teach me the way to go. I don’t want to live life as an unbeliever and end up in hell.
2: Holy Spirit, guide me through my decisions and associations, through my ups and downs that I will remain firmly rooted in Christ Jesus.
