Popular Ghanaian lifestyle and entertainment website, Pulse.com.gh has rated Diana Hamilton as Ghana’s leading Gospel Artiste in 2019. This was revealed in a publication, which was published on its website on Tuesday December 17.
The publication titled, “Top 10 Ghanaian Artistes of 2019” listed 10 of Ghana’s most prominent artistes of the year. The list was not limited to a particular genre, but was rather a cross-genre review. Majority of the artistes on the list were secular artistes. Diana Hamilton who held the number 5 position was the second of two ladies and was the only Gospel Artiste in the list.
Justifying the reason for are inclusion, pulse.com.gh says “Very few artistes in the music industry can be compared with Diana Hamilton when it comes to impact in the year 2019. The gospel singer enjoyed a very fruitful year, which saw her deservedly win numerous awards in the process.”
2019 was indeed a good year for Diana Hamilton. She released chat topping hits like ‘W’asem’ and ‘Nsenkyerene Nyankopon,” which as at first week of December had over 2 million YouTube views.
She earned the coveted title of Gospel Artiste of the Year award at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). This would be her first Ghana Music Award in her 12 year professional career. She also won two awards at the 2019 African Gospel Music and Media Awards.
She hosts an annual event, “The Experience” in UK and Ghana, which features local and international artistes at the beginning of every year.
