MANY CHRISTIANS LACK UNDERSTANDING OF TIMES AND SEASONS – PASTOR POJU OYEMADE

As the year came to an end, Pastor Poju Oyemade Head Pastor of Covenant Christian Centre and Convener of the Platform led his congregation on a review of an uncommon human quality, Wisdom. He picked his lead scripture from Proverbs 30 where Solomon challenged the wisdom of man in comparison to the wisdom of 4 smaller and less intelligent insects; Ant, Locust, Conies and Spider.

While the Ants are not as strong as humans, they had better understanding of times and season and took advantage of it for their survival. “Ants never sleep during the harvest”

He admonished Christians to learn about time-based planning and strategy from the Ant. As Christians we need to know that two main seasons exists during our lifetime.  “Paul spoke about those two seasons, he said, I know how to abound and how to abase.” He advised Christians not to misinterpret the Bible because such misinterpretation prevents them from understanding the relevance of times and seasons and live accordingly.

Because the Ant understands seasons, it does not react during the season of lack. But some humans do. “Now if there’s any change in the outward form (countenance) of a human being, it is because such human being does not understand what the Ants know. Because if you live according to the laws of seasons, your appearance (countenance) will never change.”

His message at the 2019, watch-night service encouraged Christians to study the wisdom of the Ants who have economic wisdom.

He reiterated that everybody has the same opportunity but the understanding of what to do and how to do it makes the difference. “The intelligence of Joseph was not responsible for producing the season of abundance. His intelligence was how he handled the season of abundance. That is what gave them distinction.”

During the season of abundance, everybody needs the ability to recognize opportunities. You should not be celebrating during harvest; the celebration should focus on how well you took advantage of the opportunities around you.

His message prepared his congregation for God’s blessings in 2020.
