ONE ROD ONE ROUTE

The expectation always is that, the flock may go astray. But what shepherds fail to know also is that, the flock would want to get home, anyway.

This episode gives us the opportunity to ponder over how powerful leadership is. If you have a thousand sheep or just two, you only need one rod to guide, control and lead the flock. When do you use the rod and when do you apply the staff? Many leaders have lost this. You can use leadership to divide because you use leadership to decide. Make good decisions for the flock to follow. Inspire. Teach. Lead and Live.

Sensitive to Leadership is the fact that, you may have one visible rod to lead a team of thousand thinking men and women. Nevertheless, to be a master of the game, you’ll require a thousand silent rods to apply to each and every sheep. Are you shepherding? The shepherding style of leadership is very fascinating. Followers don’t care that you know until they know that you care as hinted by J.C Maxwell.

The expectation always is that, the flock may go astray. But what shepherds fail to know also is that, the flock would want to get home, anyway. So you have to take it up as a responsibility to get them home. Some would want to be strong-willed, naughty and insubordinate. Show the silent rod and apply the physical rod. Some may also want to get home anyway. Bring them home and show them the way to go forth. That’s what makes leadership very powerful. The physical rod is the policy, rules, regulations which should guide attitude and strategy. The silent rod is the motivation (most often than not the intrinsic) for each person.

Ponder over Leadership again and again. Be wise on the journey to leadership development. You don’t have to look back to ask the flock to be in line. They have to follow.

Please get prepared for my second book on Leadership. It will be on the shelves soon (in soft and hard copies). I wish you all the very BEST. A leader is close to the people and also far from the people (Maxwell 2015). A leader is a PATHFINDER.

For this is leadership!
