THE WORD FOR TODAY
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2020.
LUKE 10: 39-42; 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
The lives of Martha and Mary demonstrate two contrasting lifestyles. They show clear sign of a transformed mind, and old mindset. Let’s look at the signs of a transformed mind. One of the biggest signs of a transformed mind is that you do not live in worry. Regardless of the troubles or circumstances that prevail around you, there is no iota of worry in your life. This is a great proof that you have a transformed mind. If your situation is contrary to this truth, then there is evidence that there is work to be done on your mind.
Many people live in a constant state of worry. This is not good for a healthy and successful life and is also a clear indication that the mind is not transformed. Like Martha, she invited Jesus to her house but got herself busy trying to please the Lord by serving him. Mary on the other hand was relaxed at the feet of Jesus receiving the word of God. Martha asked Jesus to tell Mary to come and help her, listen to the reply of our Lord.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
With a transformed mind, worry and anxiety will exit your life for good. That is a powerful sign of a transformed mind. The disciples were anxious and scared to death when they were with Jesus in the middle of the storm. Jesus on the other hand was cool, taking it easy. His mind was transformed knowing that his security was intact. Renew your mind concerning your security in Christ and nothing will shake your confidence in Christ.
PRAYER
I establish my heart on your word, I fear no evil. I will never be worried or anxious for anything, he is my shepherd and I fear no evil in the name of Jesus AMEN !!!!
