THE DANCING PROPHET, SETH FRIMPONG PASSES ON AT 48.

Award winning Gospel Artiste and man of God Prophet Seth Frimpong has passed on. The popular gospel artiste who had been missing from the gospel music scene for a while passed on, Friday 24th April at 2:30GMT.

The news was announced on his facebook page “Prophet Seth Frimpong” at 9:17 GMT, which reads “Hello people of God we are sorry to inform you that Prophet Seth Frimpong has passed on to the other side of the world. We pray that the good Lord keeps him till we meet again.

His long time friend Brother Sammy confirmed this news in a radio interview on Hitz fm, a Ghana based radio station that Prophet Seth Frimpong took ill a week ago and was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. “He suffered a stroke (and could not move) his left arm, right leg and his lips.”

Expressing with deep sorrow in his voice, he says “It is very unfortunate, very sad to lose Prophet Seth Frimpong.”

 

Prophet Seth Frimpong came into the gospel music scene in 2000 with the release of his first album, ‘Ade A Nyame Aka’ followed by ‘Mehuri So’ one of the most played songs of the year. Though he missed out on an award that year in 2005 he won Ghana Music Award, Gospel Artiste of the year.

Prophet Seth Frimpong had in the past suffered from health complications, which led to his temporary blindness as he indicated in an interview, he granted Peace FM, Accra in 2019.

He is popularly called the dancing prophet due to his danceable tunes and his past experience as a semi-professional dancer in the 80s. He is reported to have died at the age of 48.
