YOU CAN BE MADE PERFECTLY WHOLE

Nigeria – Source: Guardian

Text: Matthew 14:34-36

Introduction
Today’s topic: “You Can be Made Perfectly Whole” is prophetic. I am referring to you reading this piece. This was the experience of the people of the land of Genesaret. The Bible says, when Jesus crossed over to their region, they sent out words and brought all who were sick and begged Him that they might touch the hem of His garment.

When you look at the miracles of Jesus, there are two major ways they happened. It is either Jesus touched the sick or the sick made efforts to touch Him like the woman with the issue of the blood (Matthew 9:20-22). But it does not matter whether He touched them or they touched Him. As long as there is a touch (i.e. contact/deliberate rubbing of the body), miracles must happen. Today, I pray that something important/remarkable shall happen to your life. Of very important note is what the Bible says happened to them. “And as many as touched it were made perfectly whole” (KJV) or perfectly well. (NKJV) I pray today that the power of Jesus shall make you perfectly whole.

To Be Made Perfectly Whole: What Does It Mean?
The phrase, “made perfectly whole” is worthy of examination. The Greek word is “diasṓzō” which means, “save thoroughly, rescue, heal, cure, preserve through danger, to bring safely through, keep from perishing or to save out of danger. This word, which occurred eight times in the New Testament (Matthew 14:36; Luke 7:3; Act 23:24; Act 27:43; Act 27:44; Act 28:1; Act 28:4; 1Pe 3:20) in all occasions, was used for bodily saving. May you touch the hem of His garment today and be made whole. Amen.

If You Want To Be Made Whole

  • Recognise Jesus. Amidst the multitude, spot His difference. Don’t be too familiar with Him and miss His touch. Recognise Him as Saviour, Lord, Healer, Provider, Miracle Worker, Wonder-working God etc.
  • Believe In And On Him-They sent words around because they believed in Him and on Him. Come to Jesus, give your life to Him and live for Him.
  • Call On Him- The Bible says they begged Him that the sick might touch the hem of His garment. They had to touch Him and not wait for Him to touch them. They besought Him with great importunity, great humility and great assurance. This calls for the need to pray to Him.
  • Expect To Be Made Whole- The Bible says, we walk by faith and not by sight. The people of Genesaret called on people around and brought their sick to Him because they expected something good to happen.

Expectation is the mother of manifestation. What you don’t expect, you may never possess. Even when it is made available, you might not recognise or enjoy it to the fullest. When you come to Jesus, expect to be made whole.

Conclusion
The main condition for healing in this text (i.e. contact with Jesus Christ) illustrates the conditions upon which we become partakers of the life, which is in Christ Jesus. This condition is simple, not only as regards its operation, but also as it springs out of a principle which all men possess. A genuine contact with Jesus changes life completely. Let me close this message with the way some versions render this phrase.

May all these be your experience, as you continue to touch the hem of His garment. Amen.
