YOU CAN NEVER OUTGIVE GOD – TIMI DAKOLO

Popular Nigerian artiste, Timi Dakolo has testified to God’s glory saying “you can never out-give God.” He made this pronouncement during his song ministration at the House on the Rock Church, Abuja where he performed at the church’s special independence programme tagged, “independence praise experience.”

“Let me give you one reason why you should always praise God; you can never outgive God. You can’t give God one hallelujah and he will give you one hallelujah back.” If you sow praise, you will reap its benefits.

He talks about the multiplier effects of God’s blessing. He spent over forty minutes singing popular Christian hymns and worship songs. At a point during the performance, he sang his popular inspirational/gospel tune “Amen.”

During the course of his performance, he highlighted the benefits of praise saying, “God doesn’t care how you praise Him, just praise Him how you can. You can praise Him while you clap your hands, you can praise him while you shout for Joy.”

He asked Christians not to bother themselves about how God is going to meet their demands because, if everyone should take note of their lives, it wouldn’t add up. There will be events in the life of everyone that the individual cannot account for except God.

“When we say good news, people like to calculate how God is going to do it. That is none of your business. How God is going to do it does not have to be your place of work.

He explained how God can move and use anyone to bless an individual. He says it is not by your works, it is grace. “God will do what God will do.”

With the analogy of his daughter’s belief in him he says, “I learnt something from my daughter. My daughter believes I can do anything in this world.” He says his daughter would go to school and make a promise to her classmates on his behalf, then come home and tell the him that “don’t forget you are Timi Dakolo.” He says each time, he fulfils the daughter’s wish, she would stand up in front of the class and say, “I told you, my daddy will show up.”

He points at his daughter’s faith as a reflection of how Christians should hold unto God because “God will always show up for us.”

Reflecting on his participation at West African Idols, a reality show, which he won in 2007 to get to the limelight, he says it was an experience he didn’t anticipate let alone think of winning. He believes God is in the centre of every man’s achievement.

Though Timi Dakolo is a secular artiste, he is known to sing inspiration, morally upright tunes.
